The 3rd Annual For Oak Cliff Back To School Festival

August 12th, 2017
9:00am – 2:00pm
Glendale Park

We’re looking forward to seeing you there!

The Back To School Festival was cultivated at Bushman Elementary in their fourth grade classroom as an idea. After meeting with partners in the community, this idea turned into a festival. The purpose of the Back To School Festival is to excite and activate the community for continuous improvement while increasing awareness of For Oak Cliff’s mission.

The festival every year promotes Kindergarten Readiness through our Pre-K Registration Drive, and increases Voter Turnout by have volunteers on site to register community members. Alongside these programs, the festival also provides a job and college fair to local students, and most importantly hands out over 2,500 backpacks and school supplies to the students in the community to prepare them for the upcoming school year. Within the first two years of the festival, 3,500 backpacks have been given out to the community, and For Oak Cliff has reached more than 5,000 through the many programs that the festival provides.
